Important Bargaining Update
Over the past few weeks, you have made your voices heard by participating in a job action vote, sending letters to your MPPs, and sharing your strength and solidarity on social media. You made it clear to CarePartners that you were ready and willing to fight back.
At the same time, we have been fighting on your behalf and educating the public on the injustices you are facing. I also met with Ontario’s Minister of Health Christine Elliott to specifically talk about your current contract situation.
Together, we told CarePartners that their disgusting bargaining tactics would not be tolerated, and this week, they made it clear that they heard us.
After months of refusing to return to the bargaining table, CarePartners has accepted our demand for them to return to the bargaining table. We will be meeting for bargaining tomorrow, January 25, 2020.
While we are hopeful they will return to the table willing to negotiate a fair contract that gives you the respect and dignity you deserve, there is no way of us knowing what they will do until we get there.
For that reason, we encourage you continue to vote in the ongoing job action vote. If you are unable to vote online, we have many in-person voting meetings scheduled for this weekend. For a full list of meetings, you can visit https://stuckinthepast.ca/meeting-locations/
Thank you again for all the strength, solidarity and resilience you have shown during this bargaining period. It is your actions that have pushed CarePartners back to the table and you should be very proud of that.
We’ll keep you updated as soon as we have more to share.
